La Fleur du Sel in the pretty port of Honfleur in Calvados, offers creative French cuisine with an accent on the fresh fish and shellfish available locally in the region.
There are two small dining rooms with beams and rustic tiles and photographs of the chefs signature dishes such as Scallops with butternut squash purée, and Sea-Bream with celery risotto.
The young chef Vincent Guyon has been at the restaurant for over 10 years and in 2002 won a regional Young Chef of the year award.
Honfleur is one of the most attractive ports on the Normandy coast with its lovely harbour and old town charm. The town also houses the Musée Eugène Boudin with works by the painter who was born here in 1824. Honfleur has always attracted painters and artists especially the Impressionists in the mid 19th century.
