Bar Brasserie de Gancourt

 Nearly three years ago, Anita took over the bar and brasserie at Gancourt St Etienne (76220) in the Pays de Bray, Seine- Maritime not far from Forges-les-Eaux, Gournay-en-Bray and Neufchatel-en-Bray. Now she organises theme evenings, lunches for hikers, karaoke, and birthday celebrations among others.

Anita also takes bookings for Saturday lunches for pensioners and during the week, for local workers at the reasonable menu price of €11, 50. She also takes reservations for birthdays, baptisms, Communion and other family celebrations, for a maximum of 40 diners.

Only half an hour or so south of the A28 to Rouen and Le Havre ,Gancourt is in the heart of the lovely, rural Pays de Bray known for its dairy products but also for apples, cider and calvados. Nearby  are  Lyons-la -Foret (Eure) and Gerberoy(Oise) both categorised among the most beautiful villages in France and well worth a visit.In the village itself is  a goat farm where you can buy goats’ cheese and milk, and cider.(M and Mme Pollet).Anita herself also sells local products such as jams and honey.

There is a network of footpaths around Gancourt (brochure available from the Mairie) and Anita’s bar and brasserie is a popular meeting place for walkers.
