Description:
The number of people interested in purchasing a property in France has risen substantially over the past two months, with the strengthening pound and the availability of good French mortgage deals being given as the reasons.
A leading mortgage broker stated that May has been the busiest month for enquiries for the past year with the number of Britons looking to purchase up by seventy two percent.
Some French estate agents are also reporting strong interest from foreign buyers, particularly British and with the current weakening of the Euro, the Eurozone base interest rate is likely to remain low.
According to a press release issued by PRLog, as sterling strengthens an increased interest in the French property market is anticipated, and a corresponding rise in prices. In parts of France property prices are already on the move upwards. It’s a question of balance ,that is do you wait for sterling to strengthen further but risk property prices also rising, or do you buy now while prices are still low ? The press release claims that there are still many price-reduced bargains on the market – and there is not so much competition from other buyers.
It is claimed that there are five reasons to buy a French property now:
1. Bargains galore across the Channel: many property prices have been reduced to levels not seen for years ;
2. For now, it’s still a buyer's market: vendors are willing to negotiate but it won’t stay that way for ever ;
3.Put your money into bricks and mortar;
4. France still offers a good long-term return on your investment ;
5. Free holidays: your French property can provide you with holidays and perhaps even earn you an income through rentals.

According to estate agents Campagne Normande in Seine-Maritime,there are still more sellers than buyers; therefore prices are stable and there may be bargains to be had.The firm has many traditional Norman houses for sale in this relatively little known region of Upper Normandy with its forests and rolling chalk hills.
