Description:
Further disruption to air travel is expected today Sunday 9 May as the Icelandic volcano continues to erupt and ash drifts towards the UK and the continent, with quite considerable areas of ash moving across France and Italy. The European agency Eurocontrol expects disruption over possibly parts of Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.
Part of the ash cloud has spread to Portugal and Spain closing airports at Porto, La Coruna, Vigo and Santiago. The cloud over the Atlantic has also meant diversion of some trans-Atlantic flights towards Greenland.
