Keen birders with access to Northern France are reminded that the 20th Bird and Nature Festival runs from 10th to 20th April 2010. It is based around the Baie de Somme centred on Abbeville in Picardy.

For birdwatching do not miss the bird reserve at Marquenterre on the Picardy coast north of St Valery-sur-Somme.At this time of year migrants will be passing through and you can expect to see spoonbills, terns and other waders. If you are lucky you may see Bluethroats both at Marquenterre and nearby Noyelles-sur-Mer.
