Description:
The call for tenders for the proposed 600-750MW wind farm planned offshore at Deux Cotes , Le Treport in Seine-Maritime Upper Normandy has resulted in a joint single bid from a consortium led by GDF Suez.
Already the leading wind farm operator in France with more than 1000 land based turbines under its control,GDF-Suez is in joint venture with the German company EON and Vinci.Areva will supply the turbines for the Normandy wind farm and Siemens for those at St Brieuc.
The ten bids for the project submitted on 11 January will now be examined by the Commission for Energy Regulation , CRE,which will make its recommendations to ministers at the end of April.
Bids will be selected according to three criteria:
- industrial and social quality of the bid(40%)
-sale price of the electricity generated (40%)
-respect for the sea environment and its usage( eg fishing ) (20%)
As GDF-Suez is already on site at the Deux Cotes ,it would seem to be well favoured to win this project as well.
