For both Upper and Lower Normandy, it was the Partie Socialiste (PS) in coalition with Europe Ecologie (EE) that won the clear majority. In Upper Normandy, the PS and the EE joined forces with the Front de Gauche (FG).
In both Upper and Lower Normandy, the Mouvement Populaire (UMP) joined forces with the Nouveau Centre (NC) but were beaten into second place. In Upper Normandy, the right wing Front National (FN) came third.
Across the region the turn out was just over half: 54.42% in Lower Normandy and 51% in Upper Normandy.
