The Park covers an area of 145,000 hectares of which 30,000 hectares are wetlands and marshes, the 'marais du Cotentin et du Bessin'. The region which stretches across parts of Manche and Calvados is agricultural and retains a human dimension with an exceptional richness of flora and fauna.
