What is Guide2Normandy ?

Guide2Normandy is the latest website to be launched as part of the Guide2TheWorld franchise network of websites, and the fourth in France. Launched in 2010, Guide2Normandy aims to be the complete source of information for the Normandy Region.

Designed specifically for English speakers who are planning a holiday, contemplating buying property or already residents in Normandy. Guide2Normandy provides Property & Accommodation listings, News, Events, Regional information as well as Classified listings, a Business Directory and Blog.

 

Guide2Normandy is a community site and encourages our visitors to take advantage of free membership so that they can participate in Blog discussions, post classifieds, events and more.

Why do I need Guide2Normandy ?

Guide2Normandy is the one stop source of information for the Normandy region. From News to Events, Property to Holidays, Accommodation to Classifieds we've got it covered. With articles where information can be found all on one page, you can find the information you need without having to wade through different internet sites.

How do I post an ad if I already have an account?

From the left hand side of any page on the site there is a sign-in box where members can sign-in. Once signed in, the page will be refreshed to your My Guide 2 page, which lists all current postings in all categories. These categories can be expanded and contracted. From this page, simply find the section that you want to post in and click on the 'Click here to post new ad' link.  Simply fill in the form, agree to the terms and conditions and you're finished.
 
Additionally, if you are signed-in to the website, no matter what page you are on, you can simply click the 'Place Ad' button in the top left and you will be brought to a posting form.

How do I post an ad if I'm not an account holder ?

In order to post the following on Guide2Normandy, you must first sign up to become a member of Guide2Normandys. Membership is free and allows you to fully participate in the Guide2Normandy community, just go to the sign up box and complete the simple form.

 

Membership is required for:

Blog, Buisiness Listings, Restaurant Listings, Classifieds, Accommodation Listings, Property Listings and to place an Advert.

How do I respond to a posting ?

On all general postings there is a link in the ad that says 'Send Email'. Unless the posting has a phone number in the text, this is the only way to contact that person.

 

Simply fill in the form to send that person an email and we will send it through Guide 2. But don't worry, they will receive it as if it came from you, and will be able to reply directly back to the email address you leave in the form.

How do I remove or change a posting ?

Sign into your account, click on 'My Listings' choose the section of the listing you wish to edit or remove. Once you've found the listing you wish to edit or remove click on the appropriate icon under the 'Action' heading to the right of your listing title. This allows you to edit or delete the post.

What do I do if I feel the discussion is inappropriate ?

If you feel that a discussion is inappropriate or you have been abused on the site by other users then please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

 

Any Guide2Normandy member who we deem to have behaved inappropriately will be banned from using the site.

How do I post an event ?

At the top of each page there is a sign-in box where members are invited to sign-in by entering their username and password. Once signed in, the page will be refreshed, simply click on 'My Account' to access your Guide2Normandy member page, which lists all current postings in all categories. From this page, click on 'My Listings' and then choose 'Events'. Click on the 'Add New' link. Complete the form, click 'submit' and you're finished.

How do I advertise with Guide2Normandy?

The internet is increasingly the first port of call for property hunters, holiday makers and residents. Guide2Normandy is the one-stop source of information for this already large and growing audience in the Normandy region. With a cutting edge site design and comprehensive content Guide2Normandy  has been recently launched and we expect it to feature strongly in the Search engine rankings.

What if I want to post something but there is no category ?

Guide2Normandy welcomes contributions of all kinds from property purchasers, home movers, holiday makers, advisers or anyone with valuable experience to offer our visitors.

 

If you would like to contribute to other areas of the site please email the editor.

What am I allowed to post on Guide2Normandy?

Guide2Normandy is a community site and values contributions from its visitors. We especially invite Guide2Normandy visitors to post information on upcoming events in Seine-Maritime, Eure, Calvados, Orne and Manche, to post to the Blog and add comments to Blog posts from other users.

 

We also invite our visitors to take advantage of free classified advertising on the site and for those with businesses to add their free listing to the directory. All the above can be posted directly by our visitors once they've become a member.

Guide2Normandy also welcomes contributions of all kinds from property purchasers, home movers, holiday makers, advisers or anyone with valuable experience to offer our visitors. If you would like to contribute to other areas of the site please email the editor.

What am I not allowed to post on this site?

Please refrain from posting content that:

 

- violates any international or national copyright, patent or intellectual property laws.

is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, libelous, invasive or any information harmful to minors

 

- is of a political nature and/or is critical of any government or municipal employee of the EU.

 

- is pornographic or contains any kind of nudity, sexually explicit or perverse content.

is racist or discriminatory towards any race, religion, creed, nationality, gender or any other grouping of individuals

 

- impersonates another person, which includes but is not limited to: Guide2Normandy.com employees, political figures or public figures.

 

- includes identifying information about another person without permission.

is false or deceptive.

 

- infringes on any patent, copyright or intellectual property rights.

 

- can be classified as: spam, junk mail, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or any unsolicited commercial advertisement.

 

- is solicitation and is not in the designated area.

 

- includes links to other websites unless it is: (1) with expressed written permission of the Service (2) in the designated area for services.

 

- that advertises the sale of anything illegal under the laws of the EU.

 

- that contains software viruses.

 

- that disrupts the normal flow with an excessive number of messages.

 

- that uses misleading contact details to disguise the origin.

Advertising Terms & Conditions

Obligations of the Customer

To pay the Price on immediate receipt of  invoice from Guide2Normandy and in any event no later than the date on which the Advertisement is to appear on the Web Site, as the case may be. If the Customer is booking advertising through the ecommerce system on the site then the advertisement must be paid before the advertisement is displayed on the site.

 

To indemnify Guide2Normandy.com against all losses, costs, claims, damages or other expenses that Guide2Normandy.com incurs as a result of breach by the Customer of any of these terms, or as a result of any third party claims which Guide2Normandy.com receives as a result of the Advertisements.

 

To acknowledge that Guide2Normandy.com retains full editorial control over all Advertisements and that Guide2Normandy.com will own all copyright in the Advertisements, save that Guide2Normandy.com shall not own any Customer Branding.

 

To provide all materials for the Advertisement (including, without limitation, GIF and JPEG files) in accordance with the procedures required by Guide2Normandy.com from time to time.

 

Obligations of Guide2Normandy.com

To use reasonable endeavors to ensure that the Advertisement features on the Web Site for the Duration, or, in the case of Newsletters, on the Release Date, and in each case in accordance with the Special Instructions.

 

To use reasonable endeavors to ensure that the Web Site is accessible to users of the world wide web for a minimum of 140 hours each week.

 

Guide2Normandy.com does not guarantee any levels of response to the Advertisement.

 

Rights of Guide2Normandy.com

The Customer warrants that the Advertisement is not Unacceptable. If Guide2Normandy.com at any time considers that the Advertisement is unacceptable Guide2Normandy.com may remove the Advertisement from the Web Site. In this case Guide2Normandy.com will not refund any part of the Price to the Customer.

 

The Customer warrants that the Customer Branding will not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

 

Guide2Normandy.com reserves the right to change the format of the Web Site as Guide2Normandy.com sees fit.

 

If Guide2Normandy.com decides to discontinue the Web Site then it will refund to the Customer that proportion of the Price that is equivalent to the proportion of the Duration left to run at the date of discontinuation.

 

Guide2Normandy.com reserves the right to terminate this contract with immediate effect by giving written notice of this to the Customer. If Guide2Normandy.com decides to terminate the contract then it will refund to the Customer that proportion of the Price that is equivalent to the proportion of the Duration left to run at the date of discontinuation.

 

Cancellations

Cancellations received prior to the Advertisement or a series of Advertisements appearing on the Web Site will be liable for an administrative fee of €25.00.

 

No refund or credit will be given for cancellations received after an Advertisement has appeared or after a series of Advertisements has started to appear on the Web and the Customer shall remain liable for the Price in such circumstances.

 

Liability

Guide2Normandy.com shall not be liable to the Customer for any indirect or consequential losses or damage suffered by the Customer including (without limitation) any loss of profits, contracts, revenue, goodwill, business, savings or opportunity irrespective of whether Guide2Normandy.com knew or ought to have known of the possibility of that loss.

 

Guide2Normandy.com shall not be liable for any losses, damage or expenses (including, without limitation, any costs of finding replacement advertising space) suffered or incurred by the Customer as a result of the Web Site not being accessible to users of the world wide web for any period of time.

 

Nothing in these terms and conditions shall operate to limit the liability of either party for any death or personal injury caused by its negligence or that of its employees. In all other events the limit of Guide2Normandy.com 's liability for any losses, expenses or damages incurred by the Customer in relation to this Agreement (whether in tort, contract or otherwise) shall be equal to the Price paid by the Customer to Guide2Normandy.com under this Agreement.

 

Guide2Normandy.com shall not be liable for any delay in or non-performance of its obligations under this Agreement to the extent that such delay or non-performance is due to any cause beyond its reasonable control including but not limited to the acts, defaults or omissions of suppliers or sub-contractors, failure of any telecommunications or power network, war, undeclared hostilities, terrorism, industrial action and acts of God.

 

Guide2Normandys.com will use reasonable efforts to comply with the Customer's requested start and end dates for display of the Advertisement but cannot warrant that these dates will be met.
