Jennifer Ralph, a South African living in Upper Normandy and who every year organises a charity garden party in support of AIDS research, is also the inspiration for a girls lunch club. The club which attracts local women of all nationalities meets on a Thursday once a month at a restaurant in the area, chosen by the club. It could be in Forges-les-Eaux, Neufchatel –en-Bray or anywhere else in the area.

Jennifer arranges  lunch speakers from all walks of life including doctors, lawyers, bankers, educationalists, in fact anyone with an interesting story or slant on life in France or elsewhere. She also arranges cookery classes and naturally is personally acquainted with many chefs in the area.

The club is open to all at a membership fee of €40 and members pay for their own lunch. All proceeds go to AIDS research support.

The next lunch club is this Thursday 22 September at the Au Quai Gourmand at the Gare de Saint-Saire near Neufchatel –en- Bray in Seine-Maritime.

Jennifer can also provide details of other similar clubs in other areas of France, with the aim of raising funds for AIDS research.
