The Gite
The gite is newly-refurbished and is in a rural setting in the valley of the Béthune , in the Pays de Bray , Upper Normandy. There is one double bedroom and a convertible sofa-bed in a corner of the sitting-room. There is the possibility of a second sofa-bed being provided. The kitchen is well-equipped with dishwasher and washing machine, cooker, fridge, microwave etc. The integral bathroom includes bath with over- shower and WC.
There is a farm opposite supplying Neufchatel cheese, butter and milk direct to the public, while another close by supplies beef, lamb and pork etc.
The gite is literally within walking distance of the converted railway known as the Chemin Vert , popular with walkers and cyclists; it continues northwards for some 40km to Dieppe where there are fish restaurants and fishmarkets:http://www.guide2normandy.com/information/39/Dieppe
The owners who live close by in the traditional Norman refurbished farmhouse, can provide wine and champagne at reasonable prices if required and can also offer an evening meal with sufficient notice. They also offer guests drinks on the terrace and the possibility of the occasional barbecue depending on the weather.
Dogs allowed subject to owners' discretion. No Smoking in the bathroom.

The region of the Pays de Bray:http://www.guide2normandy.com/information/80/Pays-de-Bray offers good walking and cycling , among the rolling chalk hills in the pastoral landscape of the valley of the Béthune. The quiet roads and lanes make the region ideal for cyclists apart from the Chemin Vert.
